The Best Forex Trading Platform

The platform you trade on shapes every order you place. We scored the five that matter, MT5, MT4, TradingView, cTrader and the proprietary broker apps, across seven sectors, then named which trader each one actually suits, and which of our reviewed brokers to get it from.

Before you choose

There is no single best platform, only the best for how you trade

A scalper running algorithms wants something very different from a beginner placing a handful of trades a week. Here is what actually separates them before you commit.

Our platform scoring model

Every platform is scored 0 to 10 across the same seven sectors. The Overall figure is a curated headline rating, not a straight average, weighted toward the sectors most traders feel day to day.

Pick MT5 unless you have a reason not to

MetaTrader 5 is the best all-round forex trading platform for most people in 2026, capable enough to grow into yet offered by plenty of strong brokers. Choose MT4 if you want the safest, most universal option and only trade forex. Choose TradingView if charting is everything, cTrader if you live on the order book, and a proprietary app like IG’s if you value polish and multi-asset breadth over automation.

Whichever you pick, the platform is only as good as the broker behind it. Run the Matchmaker and we will point you to the best-regulated broker that offers your platform of choice.

How we scored

Scores are based on hands-on use of each platform across the brokers we review, weighing the seven sectors above. We assess the desktop, web and mobile builds where they exist. Availability reflects how many of our reviewed brokers offer the platform. We do not accept payment for placement, and our scoring is not influenced by affiliate relationships.
