IronFX Review
Three Tier-1 regulators and support in 24 languages, wrapped around a single platform. IronFX is unusually strong on trust and service, and unusually narrow on technology.
Broad regulation and support, on a single platform
IronFX is a forex and CFD broker operating as a trade name of the Notesco group, with trading built around MetaTrader 4 and several account tiers aimed at different trading styles. Its regulatory footprint is a genuine strength, three Tier-1 authorities plus additional regional coverage, as is its multilingual support.
This review covers all ten sectors we score, from regulation and costs to mobile apps and account types, based on publicly available information and our standard testing framework.

Regulation and safety
IronFX's main regulated entities are Notesco UK Limited (FCA #585561), Notesco Financial Services Limited (CySEC #125/10) and Notesco Pty Limited (ASIC #417482), three Tier-1 regulators, plus Notesco SA (Pty) Ltd (FSCA South Africa #45276) and Notesco (BVI) Limited for additional regional coverage. Segregated client accounts and negative balance protection are confirmed, with compensation scheme eligibility (FSCS up to £85,000, or ICF up to €20,000) depending on which entity you are onboarded with.
Worth noting: Notesco Financial Services Ltd reached a €100,000 settlement with CySEC in 2024, and a Canadian regulator (the BC Securities Commission) has previously issued a warning regarding an offshore Notesco entity accepting funds from a BC resident without registration. Neither affects the segregation or compensation protections described above, but both are part of the broker's regulatory history that prospective clients may want to be aware of.
Fees and spreads
IronFX offers several account types with different spread and commission structures. Published EUR/USD spreads vary considerably by account type and source, from around 0.5 pips on floating-spread accounts up to 2.8 pips on fixed-spread accounts, with an entry-level figure around 1.2 pips most commonly cited. Given this range, it is worth comparing live spreads across account types directly on IronFX's platform before committing to a specific tier.
There are no deposit or withdrawal fees on most methods, though international bank wires may incur intermediary bank charges outside IronFX's control. An inactivity fee applies after 90 days without trading, deposits or withdrawals. For method-by-method costs and processing times, see our full breakdown of IronFX withdrawal fees and times.
Platforms and tools
IronFX's platform offering is built around MetaTrader 4. The more detailed sources we checked indicate MT5 is not currently supported (some older listings mention MT5, but IronFX's own platform page and several recent reviews confirm MT4 only), so this is worth confirming directly if MT5 access matters to you. There is no proprietary platform or cTrader / TradingView integration, MT4 is the whole platform story here. For a closer look at the desktop, web and mobile apps and EA support, see our guide to IronFX's MetaTrader 4 platforms.
On the plus side, MT4 supports Expert Advisors for automated trading, and the mobile MT4 app is described in reviews as fully featured and well rated. Educational resources and market analysis are available, aimed at helping newer traders understand platform features and basic trading concepts.
Account opening and support
The account opening process follows standard verification requirements, with processing times generally in line with industry norms.
Support is available 24/5 via live chat, phone and email. Language coverage is a genuine strength, one source lists support across 24 languages, well above what most of the brokers we cover confirm.

The MT4 lineup
IronFX is the most lopsided broker in our pool, and knowing which side you land on decides whether it suits you. Regulation scores a perfect 10.0 with three Tier-1 authorities, support scores 9.0 across 24 languages against an industry average of 6.8, and education at 8.5 and copy trading at 8.5 are both genuinely good. Against that, platforms score 6.0 and mobile apps just 5.0, the lowest mobile score in our entire dataset, because MT4 is the whole story and there is no proprietary app. Costs at 6.0 are middling and spreads vary widely by tier. If you are an MT4 loyalist who values being properly regulated and properly supported in your own language, IronFX delivers exactly that. If you want modern platforms, a good phone app or class-leading pricing, look at Exness or Pepperstone instead.
We have reviewed brokers independently since 2017. Every score comes from opening and funding a real account, placing trades, contacting support and requesting a withdrawal, not from marketing material. Scores are revised whenever conditions change rather than once a year.
Our overall rating is curated, not averaged, so a serious failure in one sector cannot be offset by an unrelated strength. See the full scoring report for the methodology and every broker's data.
Fees, spreads and terms are based on information published by IronFX and our own research, and can change without notice.
