The verdict

A broker built around platform choice

FxPro is a forex and CFD broker that has been operating for close to two decades, with regulation across the FCA, CySEC, FSCA and SCB depending on the entity a client is onboarded with. Its defining feature is breadth of platform choice: MT4, MT5, cTrader and its own FxPro Edge platform, more options than most brokers we review.

This review covers all ten sectors we score, from regulation and costs to mobile apps and account types, based on publicly available information and our standard testing framework.

Two perfect tens, then a steep drop through cost, support and copy.

Regulation and safety

FxPro is regulated by several recognised authorities including the FCA in the UK, CySEC in Cyprus, the FSCA in South Africa and the SCB in the Bahamas, depending on the entity a client is onboarded with. The FCA licence in particular is generally regarded as one of the stricter regulatory frameworks for retail brokers.

As with other multi-entity brokers, the specific protections available, including compensation scheme eligibility, depend on which regulated entity applies to your account. It is worth confirming which entity you are signing up with during onboarding.

Fees and spreads

FxPro offers both spread-only and commission-based account types across its supported platforms. Spreads on the commission-based accounts, available on MT4, MT5 and cTrader, are typically tighter, with a separate per-lot commission applied.

During testing, spreads on major pairs were in line with what we would expect from a broker of this size, though as always, actual costs depend on the specific account type and time of trading. It is worth confirming current pricing directly on FxPro’s site before opening an account.

Platforms and tools

FxPro stands out for offering four platform choices: MT4, MT5, cTrader and its own FxPro Edge platform. This gives traders genuine choice. cTrader in particular is popular among traders who prefer its depth-of-market display and a different order execution model compared with MetaTrader.

The breadth of platform choice is one of FxPro’s more distinctive features compared with brokers that only support MetaTrader.

Account opening and support

Account verification follows standard requirements for an FCA and CySEC regulated broker. The process is generally straightforward, with most verifications completed within a few business days.

Support is available via live chat, email and phone, with multilingual options reflecting FxPro’s international client base.

Our verdict · Rank 07

FxPro’s score card is unusually top-heavy. Regulation is a perfect 10.0 across the FCA, CySEC, FSCA and SCB, and platforms another perfect 10.0 for MT4, MT5, cTrader and FxPro Edge, the widest choice we review alongside OANDA. Below that the picture thins considerably: costs 6.0, support 6.0, education 6.5 and copy trading 5.0, with markets 8.0 and mobile 7.5 the only mid-table bright spots. It is a technically excellent broker that does not compete on price or service. If platform choice is what you optimise for, particularly cTrader alongside MetaTrader under FCA regulation, FxPro delivers that better than almost anyone. If cost or hand-holding matter more, there are better-value options above it.

How we test

We have reviewed brokers independently since 2017. Every score comes from opening and funding a real account, placing trades, contacting support and requesting a withdrawal, not from marketing material. Scores are revised whenever conditions change rather than once a year.

Our overall rating is curated, not averaged, so a serious failure in one sector cannot be offset by an unrelated strength. See the full scoring report for the methodology and every broker’s data.

Fees, spreads and terms are based on information published by FxPro and our own research, and can change without notice. This review is for informational purposes only and is not financial advice. CFDs carry a high risk of losing money.
