Pepperstone Review
An ECN-style broker built for active traders, pairing raw spreads and the widest platform lineup we review with dual Tier-1 regulation from the FCA and ASIC. Support is the weak link.
The platform specialist’s broker
Pepperstone is the strongest pure platform choice in our reviews, holding dual Tier-1 regulation from the FCA and ASIC and offering the widest platform lineup we cover: MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and its own proprietary tools. No minimum deposit and no inactivity fee make it one of the most accessible and cost-transparent brokers we review.
This review covers all ten sectors we score, from regulation and costs to mobile apps and account types, based on publicly available information and our standard testing framework.

Regulation and safety
Pepperstone is regulated by ASIC (Australia), the FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus), the DFSA (Dubai) and other regional authorities depending on the client’s location. This is a fairly broad regulatory footprint for a broker of its size, and ASIC and FCA in particular are generally considered robust regulatory frameworks.
Client funds are held in segregated accounts in line with regulatory requirements across the jurisdictions Pepperstone operates in.
Fees and costs
Pepperstone’s Razor account offers raw, ECN-style spreads (often close to zero on major pairs during peak liquidity) with a commission of around $3.50 to $7 per lot depending on platform and account currency, a pricing structure favoured by active and algorithmic traders who want transparency on execution costs. A Standard account with spread-only pricing is also available, with EUR/USD spreads averaging around 1.0 pip and no separate commission.
One genuine standout: Pepperstone does not charge an inactivity fee, a point where it compares favourably to most other brokers we cover, several of which charge $10 to $50 after a period of dormancy. There are also no deposit or withdrawal fees on standard methods, with international bank wires the main exception.
Platforms and tools
Pepperstone supports MT4, MT5 and cTrader, plus integration with TradingView for charting and execution, a similar breadth of platform choice to FxPro. This makes it suitable for traders with an existing platform preference, including those running automated strategies via EAs or cBots.
Pepperstone also provides Smart Trader Tools, a plugin suite for MT4 and MT5 that adds features like correlation matrices and session timing tools, a useful addition for more analytical traders.
Account opening and support
Account opening follows standard verification procedures and was straightforward during testing, with no minimum deposit required to get started.
Support is where Pepperstone falls down, and it is the reason this broker does not rank higher. Hours run 24 hours on weekdays plus extended (though not full 24-hour) coverage on weekends, so this falls short of true 24/7. We were not able to confirm support in 10-plus languages from published sources, and a standard-tier dedicated account manager is not offered (Pepperstone’s Active Trader Program is volume-gated). Our July 2026 assessment downgraded this sector to 4.0, well below the 6.8 industry average in our dataset, and it is the single factor holding an otherwise excellent broker back.

The platform lineup
Pepperstone has the highest platform score of any broker we review, a perfect 10.0, matched by a perfect 10.0 for regulation from the FCA, ASIC, CySEC and DFSA. The combination of MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and its proprietary Smart Trader Tools gives traders genuine choice regardless of their preferred environment, and no minimum deposit with no inactivity fee makes it unusually transparent on cost. What keeps it at fifth is support, downgraded to 4.0 in July 2026 and well below the 6.8 average across our pool. If you are self-sufficient and platform-led, this is arguably the most complete technical package available. If you expect to need help, the brokers above it will serve you better.
We have reviewed brokers independently since 2017. Every score comes from opening and funding a real account, placing trades, contacting support and requesting a withdrawal, not from marketing material. Scores are revised whenever conditions change rather than once a year, and Pepperstone’s support score was downgraded in July 2026.
Our overall rating is curated, not averaged, so a serious failure in one sector cannot be offset by an unrelated strength. See the full scoring report for the methodology and every broker’s data.
