Quick facts

AvaTrade sits in the middle of the market on funding. The $100 minimum is higher than the handful of brokers that let you start with $5 or $10, but it is not a barrier for anyone trading seriously, and in return you get no withdrawal fee and processing times that are genuinely quick. AvaTrade scores 8.5 out of 10 for deposits and withdrawals in our assessment, and the deductions are for the wire-transfer caveat and the inactivity fee rather than anything about payouts themselves.

Deposit and withdrawal fees

AvaTrade charges no fee to deposit and no fee to withdraw on standard methods. The important caveat is international bank wires, where your own bank or a correspondent bank in the chain may deduct a charge that AvaTrade does not control. That is normal across the industry, but it means a wire can land slightly short of what you requested.

The cost to actually watch for is the inactivity fee: $50 per quarter after three consecutive months without trading, plus a $100 administration fee after twelve months dormant. That is at the higher end of what we see. If you are stepping away from trading, withdraw your balance rather than leaving it to be eroded.

Funding methods compared

Three routes in, and the right one depends on how quickly you want to start and how much you are funding.

Payment methodMin depositProcessing timeSupported currencies

Deposit processing times are for funds reaching your trading account. Available methods and account currencies vary by your region and account entity, so confirm what applies to you before funding.

Withdrawal times by method

Two clocks again. AvaTrade processes the request, typically in one to two business days, then the payment method delivers: e-wallets within 24 hours, cards in one to three business days, bank transfers in two to five. Your first withdrawal is usually the slowest, because verification is often completed alongside it.

How to submit a withdrawal

The flow in the AvaTrade client portal is short. Knowing it in advance saves the panic of hunting for the button when you actually want your money.

Important rules and troubleshooting

⚠ The two rules behind almost every delay
{{ r.h }}
{{ r.b }}

Clear both of those before you need to move money and withdrawals are almost always uneventful. Nearly every “broker won’t let me withdraw” complaint we look into turns out to be incomplete verification or a payment method that does not match the account holder, not the broker refusing to pay.

If a deposit is declined

  • Check verification is complete. Some methods will not process until your account is fully approved.
  • Confirm the name matches. The card or bank account must be in the account holder’s own name.
  • Call your bank, not just AvaTrade. Many card declines are the issuer blocking a transaction it flags as high risk, and only you can authorise it.
  • Check you are above the minimum. Anything under $100 equivalent will not fund the account.
  • Try a different method. If a card keeps failing, an e-wallet or bank transfer usually goes through.

How this compares

Fee-free withdrawals and quick processing are competitive, and the $100 minimum is reasonable rather than generous. Brokers like Exness ($10) and XM Group ($5) are far cheaper to start with if that is your priority.
