IronFX Platforms guide

IronFX keeps its platform story simple, for better and for worse. Everything runs on MetaTrader 4, the most widely used retail trading platform in the world, in its desktop, browser and mobile forms, with full support for automated trading. What you will not find is MetaTrader 5, cTrader or a proprietary platform. For MT4 loyalists that focus is a feature; for anyone set on MT5 or TradingView it is the dealbreaker to know about up front.

What platforms does IronFX offer?

IronFX offers MetaTrader 4 only, delivered three ways so you can trade wherever you are: the full desktop application, MT4 WebTrader in the browser, and the MT4 mobile app. All three connect to the same account and instruments.

Does IronFX have MT5?

This is the most common platform question, and the answer matters. The more detailed current sources indicate IronFX does not support MetaTrader 5. Some older listings mention MT5, but IronFX’s own platform materials and recent reviews point to MT4 only. If MT5’s extra timeframes, instruments and faster backtesting are important to you, confirm availability directly with IronFX before opening an account, or consider an MT5 broker.

Automated trading with Expert Advisors

Because IronFX runs on MT4, it fully supports Expert Advisors (EAs), the automated programs that trade a rule-based strategy for you. You can run any MT4-compatible EA on the desktop platform. If you are exploring automation, read our honest guide to forex trading bots and EAs first, plenty of what is sold online is not what it claims to be.

How this compares

MT4-only is narrower than several brokers we cover, but MT4 remains the most capable and familiar platform for most retail traders. For the complete assessment see our IronFX review, check the IronFX withdrawal fees and times, or compare it head to head in our AvaTrade vs IronFX breakdown. New to the platform debate? Our MT4 vs MT5 guide explains what you would gain or lose.

Prefer MetaTrader 4?

IronFX is built entirely around MT4

Full MT4 across desktop, web and mobile, with EA support and Tier-1 regulation. Open an account, or run the Matchmaker to compare platforms across brokers first.
